How do I submit a document to Turnitin outside of Trunk?
Instructors and students can generate a TurnItin originality report without using the Trunk Assignment function.
Go to the InCommon Turnitin shibboleth login (shibboleth.turnitin.com)
Use the dropdown box to select Tufts University
Click Next
This displays the shibboleth login for Turnitin at Tufts University
Enter your Tufts University username and password, then click Login
Click the "All Classes" tab.
This displays your All Casses page. If you have used Turnitin via a Trunk site, there will be a listing for that site (Turnitin uses the site ID number).
Click "Add Class".
This displays the Add class page.
Enter information about a class (this can be fake information if you are going to submit a paper yourself). Click Submit.
This displays a confirmation box.
Click Continue.
This lists the class on your All Classes page.
Click the name of the new class
This displays the Class Page.
Click Add Assignment.
This displays the new assignment page
Enter a title for the assignment, then click "Submit".
This creates the assignment and returns the display to the Assignments page
Click More Actions / Submit
This displays the file submit form.
Fill out the form, then click "Choose from this Computer".
This displays your computer's file locator.
Select the file and click "Open"
This selects the file to submit to Turnitin.
Click Upload.
This uploads the file to Turnitin.
Click Confirm.
This displays a confirmation.
Click "Go to assignment inbox".
This displays the assignment page.
When the Originality Report is created, click on the name of the file.
This displays the Turnitin Originality Report for that file.
