How do I answer an Audio Recording question in an assessment? (Student)

The instructor may add an audio recording question to an assessment. To answer such a question, students respond with an audio file created within the Test & Quizzes assessment.

Go to the course site, then click Test & Quizzes.

This displays the student assessment page.

Under "Take and Assessment", click on the name of the assessment.

This displays a introductory "Begin Assessment" page.

Click Begin Assessment.

Go to the Audio Recording question, click "Click to Record your answer".

If an application message is displayed, checkmark "Accept", then click "Run".

The Audio Record question uses a pop-up Java based recording application that must be installed on your computer.

To record your answer, click Record.

Make sure you have your computer microphone turned on.

As you record, the recorder display will indicate the recording volume via a bar graph.

When finished, click Stop.

The recorder displays a graphic representation of your recording.

This will play back your recording.  Make sure your computer speakers are turned on and the volume is up.

Click "STOP" when finished previewing your recorded answer.

If your instructor has allowed additional recording attempts, you can click "Record" and re-record your answer.

When finished with your recorded answer, click Save/Close

After a few seconds of Processing, the pop-up recorder will close and an audio file will be listed as your answer.
