How do I link a project site Resource folder to a course site?

it is sometimes useful to store content in a project site Resources folder and then add a link to that folder on a course site. This is often done in situations where there is a body of content that needs to accessed by multiple course sites (for instance, content used in all Spanish 1 course sites).

First, set up the folder on the Project site.

Go to the Project site Site Editor.

Go to the Project site Site Editor.

In the above example project site, the Resources tool was the only tool added to the site.

Click Manage Access.

Click Manage Access.

This displays the Manage Access page.

Make sure the site is 'Published" and the visibility is "Private".

Click Update if you made any changes.

Go to the project site Resources.

In the above example project site, the Resources tool was the only tool added to the site.

To the right of the site's ROOT folder, click Add / Create Folder

This displays the Add Folders page.

Name the folder, then click Create Folfers Now.

This creates a folder in the Resources tool.

Add the content to this Folder.

To the right of the folder that holds the subfolders and content, click Actions / Edit Details.

Under Availability and Access, select Make folder Publicly Viewable, then click Update.

This sets the folder (and all of its subfolders and content files to be viewable by anyone that has the URL for this folder. This does not make the content "searchable" because the Manage Access  has been set to "Private".

Copy the Web address (URL) for the folder to your computer's clipboard.

Next, Add the folder link to the course site.

Checkmark Web Content, then click Continue.

Name the Web Content tool, paste the folder URL into the URL box, then click Continue.

Note: Changes/additions made to the Project site folder will automatically be updated in the course site link to the folder.
