What is the Roster tool?

The Roster tool displays the number of site participants along with their names, email addresses, photos, profiles and site role.

The Roster tool allows instructors to:

  • View the names and e-mail addresses of the course site participants
  • View the official Tufts University ID images of course participants (Note: TAs do not have access to official Tufts University ID images)
  • View information and Profile2 images posted by course participants in their Profile2 tool
  • View course site group membership

Note: The Roster tool does not allow instructors to add or remove participants from their site.

The Roster tool allows students to:

  • View the names and e-mail addresses of the course site participants
  • View information and Profile2 images posted by other course participants in their Profile2 tool
  • View course site group membership

Notes:

In the Profile2 tool, under “Privacy”, a user may opt to hide certain information from other users. The information they choose to hide in the Profile2 tool is also hidden from site participants in the Roster tool.

In the My Workspace Preferences tool, under “Privacy Status”, users may opt to be hidden in all sites or be hidden in individual sites. If a user makes this privacy choice, their name and profile will not appear in the Roster tool when viewed by other students. Instructors will still be able to view the listing.
