How do I assign a course evaluation in Trunk?

If you have been selected to assign your school/department's online course evaluations in Trunk, please follow these steps to assign course evaluations correctly.

Go to Course Evaluations (on the left side of any Trunk page).

Fill in Evaluation Title and Instructions

We typically use the following Titile naming convention. Semester Course Evaluations - School (i.e. Fall 2014 Course Evaluations - Public Health),

Select Template and Continue to Settings

Select to radio button next to the template you want to use and click Continue to Settings.

Set the Open and Close Dates

Click the calendar icon to the right of the Start Date to select the date and time you want to open the evaluation for students (evaluations should always start at 12:05AM).  Click the calendar icon to the right of the Due Date to select the date and time you want to close the evaluation for students (evaluations should ways close at 11:55PM).

Set the Report Date

Click the calendar icon to the right of the View Date to select the date and time that you want instructors to be able to view their evaluations reports in Trunk.  Evaluation reports should always be available at 12:05AM and should not be available until AFTER final grades are due.

Uncheck the box next to "Instructors can view responses to questions about other instructors!

Set Participant Settings

Check the boxes for participant completion settings.

Set Evaluation Extras (Optional)

If your program is one that requires evaluations reports be available to program administrators (via Tableau) BEFORE reports are available to Instructors (via Trunk).  Type the word EARLY (in all CAPS) in the Category field.

Set Notifications Settings

Use the drop down menu to select the frequency of email reminders and set the email from/reply-to address.  You may use our monitored course evaluation address courseeval@tufts.edu or an email address that goes directly to you/your program.

Continue to Assign to Courses

Select Assign Evaluation to Hierarchy Nodes

Click on Assign Evaluation to Hierarchy Nodes

Select Nodes and/or Courses

Select an entire node (Term & Subject) of courses or individual courses by clicking the checkbox to the left of the title.  Note: even if an entire node is selected, checkboxes will not appear next to each course title, they will all still receive the evalaution.

Save Assigned Groups

Click on Save Assigned Groups

Save Assigned Groups

Confirm Settings

Review all dates/times and nodes/courses selected and click Done when you are done or Change Assigned Groups if you need to make a change.
